Description
Glacier National Park, tourists on Grinnell Glacier. Description with photo reads: "During the 1926 season of Glacier National Park twelve hundred tourists visited Grinnell Glacier, accompanied by the experienced guide Hans Riess. The first party at any time to visit the upper glacier climbed the wall separating upper and lower portions, and crept along the foot of the upper glacier. They are here shown clambering over an easier portion. More than half of this party were women. At the time, September 4, the glacier as shown was of pure ice."
