The text for this exhibit was written in collaboration with Aaron Brien, member of the Apsáalooke Nation, Big Lodge Clan, and child of the Whistling Water Clan. Brien received his MA in anthropology from the University of Montana and is an instructor at Salish Kootenai College. His patience and assistance have been invaluable to this project. We especially thank him for his help with the Apsáalooke language and for contextualizing Plenty Coups’ life within Apsáalooke culture.
