Alarm of Danger

Alarm of Danger, E.T. Allen, ca. 1915, 6.

The event known as the Big Blow-Up occurred on August 20, 1910. A hurricane force wind arose sweeping all the separate fires together and creating a racing cloud of flame. The wall of fire stretched for miles. In some cases, the wind was so strong it toppled the trees before the fire could reach them.
