October 1978

Originally "For All the Sad Rain" was titled "Whose World" drawing from the initial question posed in the second stanza "whose world do you think this is?"  Throughout the revisions, Goedicke retains the general structure of eleven quatrains (four line stanzas).  Many of the more memorable passages of the poem are present in the initial drafts, while much of the rest of the poem undergoes years of revision.
